Evanston, Ill.-based Morgante Wilson Architects, Ltd., a leading architecture and interior design firm, today announced three employees have been promoted from project managers to associates. James Matthews and Danielle Kriston were named associates in interior design and Elliot Flaws has been promoted to associate in architecture.

“Our firm has been busier than ever as we emerge from the pandemic and clients reevaluate what they need and want in a home given the lifestyle changes we’ve all experienced since COVID,” said Fred Wilson, co-principal of Morgante Wilson Architects (MWA). “With our current robust portfolio of work, it’s especially gratifying to promote three of our most trusted team members and recognize the leadership and talent they contribute to our holistic design process.”

Elissa Morgante, co-principal of Morgante Wilson Architects, noted that as a family-owned company MWA values the opportunity to help dedicated employees develop professionally. “James, Danielle and Elliot all started with us fairly early in their design careers, and we’re proud to see them continue to excel and grow in their respective specialties – which is such an important part of our firm’s success and longevity.”

James Matthews is a 10-year veteran of MWA, having joined the firm as a project manager on the interior design team in 2013. As an interior design associate, he pushes the continuous improvement of MWA’s collaborative design process working with clients and vendors to create impactful interior spaces – from residential projects to private offices to amenity spaces at multifamily communities. Matthews has also helped manage the development and implementation of IT processes and support for the firm. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in printmaking from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, Matthews also holds a master’s degree in interior design from Harrington College of Design.

Danielle Kriston joined MWA in 2014 as a project manager/interior designer. In her new role as associate in interior design, Kriston will continue to lead interior design projects for high-end residential clients. She also takes an active role in training and mentoring new staff, and will continue her role on MWA’s social media team. In addition to her work on private homes, Kriston has also spearheaded the successful implementation of special projects such as MWA’s “Traveler’s Retreat” penthouse space designed for the Adler on the Park Showcase House in Chicago in 2022. She is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design.

Elliot Flaws joined MWA in 2015 as an architectural project manager, shortly after earning his Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During his tenure with the firm he has been involved in a variety of residential projects, including recently serving as project manager overseeing construction of an elegantly detailed custom home in Wilmette, Ill. Additionally, he has coordinated the development of an internal reference and best practices manual used company-wide. In his new position as associate in architecture, he will lead a range of projects, from renovations and remodels of existing homes to ground-up design of custom residences. Flaws’ approach to design is also informed by his experience working as a carpenter and appreciation of fine woodworking. In addition to his master’s degree, Flaws also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior architecture and design, with a minor in photography.
