Evanston, Ill.-based Morgante Wilson Architects, Ltd., a leading architecture and interior design firm, today announced it has promoted Siobhán Barrett from project manager to associate of architecture.
“One of the most rewarding things about running our own company is the opportunity to help develop young professionals in the industry we are so passionate about ourselves,” said Fred Wilson, co-founding partner of Morgante Wilson Architects (MWA) along with his wife and business partner, Elissa Morgante. “In her six years with us, Siobhán has been eager to grow in her career and take on new challenges, and we’re proud to see her stepping up into a role that will afford her even more opportunities to expand her work into new areas, continue her professional development and progress as a leader at our firm.”
In her new position, Barrett will continue to oversee all phases of residential projects, from design to punch list. Additionally, she will take on added responsibilities with MWA’s commercial portfolio – including current work on education and cultural facilities – and will manage the detailed permitting and building code regulations these projects entail. Barrett will also maintain her ongoing involvement in social media marketing for the firm.
Barrett joined MWA in 2016 as a project manager, with responsibilities spanning preparation of construction documents, permitting, bidding and contracts, and site observation.
A graduate of University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) with a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in architecture, Barrett is active with the UIC Alumni Association as well as Chicago Women in Architecture. She is currently pursuing her architecture license and certification with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
