Chicago-based RMK Management Corp. announced the start of pre-leasing at the NewCity Residences, the 199-unit residential portion of the 8.5-acre mixed-use development along the Clybourn Corridor in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. NewCity will welcome first move-ins to the luxury rental apartments in July.
“Ever since it was announced, this has been one of the most-watched Lincoln Park developments in history given its significant impact to the already-popular Clybourn Corridor,” said Anthony Rossi, Sr., president of RMK Management Corp. “The pre-leasing of the apartments is one of the first elements to fall into place as the 19-story development continues on track toward completion later this year.”
Floor plans at NewCity measure 590 to 1,315 square feet and include studio, convertible, one-bed/one-bath, one-bed/one-bath plus den, and two-bed/two-bath plans. All homes feature quartz countertops in the kitchen, bath and built-in desk; GE® Energy Star® clean steel appliances; plank flooring throughout; 9- to 10-foot ceilings; floor-to-ceiling windows; in-unit washer and dryer; and private balconies.
Notable floor plan features, depending on the residence, include sliding partitions in the convertible units; a semi-circular full wall of windows in select two-bedroom plans; and balconies stretching the full length of a unit.
Residents of NewCity will have access to a 24-hour doorman at the building’s private entrance, cyber café and coffee bar, reservable conference room, bike parking and repair station, and a fitness studio with interactive classes. The building’s fourth floor will feature an outdoor grilling area, lounge with a fire pit, swimming pool and spa, and dog run; a theater room; and 24-hour gym with Life Fitness equipment. Residents also have access to Pressbox dry cleaning valet. Reserved parking is available.
“The modern, upscale apartments and full amenity package is absolutely what today’s luxury renters want and so we know these residences will be very popular. But what’s most unique and will make NewCity the ultimate address in Chicago is the amazing variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options that are part of the development,” said Rossi.
NewCity will also include more than 360,000 square feet of retail and commercial space including a Mariano’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, LYFE Kitchen, Kings Bowling and more. This is in addition to the already established retailers such as the Apple Store, Crate and Barrel and J.Crew along Clybourn.
“This is definitely not just ‘another new development’ but rather a true destination for Chicagoans to live and play,” said Rossi. “This area of Lincoln Park has long been known as a prime shopping location and the fantastic retailers NewCity is attracting will only add to that. And now there will be an option for upscale rental apartments, too.”
Rents at the NewCity Residences start at $2,083. The temporary leasing office is located at the corner of Halsted and Eastman. For leasing questions, call 312-578-8444 or email NewCity@RMK.com.
