Wingspan Development Group, a national development firm, and ABC Capital Corp. have broken ground on The Whitt, a 211-unit rental community in Riverview, Fla., a suburb approximately 12 miles southeast of downtown Tampa. Wingspan’s sister company, Nicholas & Associates, whose national portfolio of construction projects includes a range of mixed-use, multifamily, sports and PK-12 education facilities, will serve as the construction manager as it has for two other developments by Wingspan and ABC Capital Corp. in the Tampa market, NICHE and Jade at North Hyde Park.
“Earlier Wingspan developments in Florida, including NICHE and Jade at North Hyde Park, have been embraced by renters for their thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, plentiful amenities and proximity to downtown and the university,” said Chris Coleman, vice president of development for Wingspan. “The Whitt will employ that same successful model in a location that offers quick access to I-75, a major artery for Tampa-St. Petersburg, and points north and south.”
Located just east of I-75 on Big Bend Road, The Whitt will comprise three four-story buildings with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans averaging 989 square feet. Residences will feature high-end finishes and access to resort-style amenities, including a 24-hour fitness center and yoga studio, community clubhouse with lounge and outdoor swimming pool, 1.2-acre dog park, outdoor grilling stations, horseshoe and cornhole courts, and a 24-hour package concierge system.
The community is about 20 miles from Tampa International Airport and minutes from beaches, parks and other recreational amenities along the bay.
