When REJournals.com was looking to kick off a new feature on unique commercial properties, Taylor Johnson immediately thought of client Transwestern

, which was recently retained to lease Chicago’s historic Rookery Building. Completed by Burnham and Root in 1888, the 12-story building at 209 S. LaSalle St. is considered the oldest standing high-rise in Chicago, putting it on the distinguished list of National Historic Landmarks. In the article, Transwestern’s Eric Myers, who joined the firm earlier this year as executive vice president of agency leasing, explains how the timeless building has been modernized for today’s office users while retaining the original design features that appeal to tenants in search of vintage charm.

Transwestern has been tapped to lease the Rookery Building, Chicago's oldest standing high-rise whose notable design features include this two-story, skylit lobby redesigned by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905.
