Taylor Johnson client Baird & Warner‘s Chicago roots go deep — 164 years in business and thriving. So, who better to track the real estate artifacts the family-owned business has collected over the decades than Lucy Baird,project manager at the company and a sixth-generation Baird. TJ recognized the unique news value of the labor of love project that Baird, who has bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Harvard University and a master’s degree in fine arts in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, began undertaking to curate a treasure trove of historical real estate documents, photos, maps and letters, and pitched Realtor magazine. The resulting article details Baird’s work in creating the Family Room — a mini Chicago real estate museum — at the firm’s Loop headquarters and displaying neighborhood-specific real estate documents and memorabilia at some of the firm’s 24 Chicagoland offices.
