Wight & Company Completes First Rec Center In US Designed For Passive House Source Zero Certification
Taylor Johnson client Wight & Company has always been a leader in sustainability and with the completion of the new recreation center in Plainfield, Ill., the Prairie Activity and Recreation Center (PARC), the design-build firm broke new ground. With its net zero design, PARC is the first recreation center built to achieve PHIUS+ Source Zero certification from the Passive House Institute US. This means that on an annual basis, the building will generate at least as much energy as it uses. Recognizing the appeal of such a milestone, we spread the news, and received coverage in multiple outlets, including REJournals.com, Bisnow Chicago, Building Design & Construction, Connect Chicago and Commercial Property Executive.
