Prompted by the pandemic, more people than ever found comfort and companionship over the past year by adding a pet to their family. In fact, 1 in 5 American households – approximately 23 million – acquired a pet between March 2020 and May 2021, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals. Recognizing the news value in this stat, Taylor Johnson pitched FOX 32 Chicago on the best places to live with your new pandemic pet. The resulting segment, which aired on the Sunday edition of the station’s “Good Day Chicago” show, featured TJ client Optima, Inc. and its Streeterville luxury apartment tower Optima Signature, which has seen a spike in new dog “residents” since last spring. The segment highlighted the building’s numerous pet-friendly features, including outdoor and indoor dog parks, an on-site grooming facility, access to GoodVets Streeterville (the neighborhood’s first and only vet – and also an Optima Signature commercial tenant) and the ability to pick up specialty pet food at the adjacent Whole Foods Market without ever leaving the building.
