Feel Good Friday: Morgante Wilson Supports Affordable Housing Through New Foundation

November 19, 2021

For this Feel Good Friday, we’re putting the spotlight on Taylor Johnson client Morgante Wilson Associates (MWA). Last November, the firm launched the Morgante Wilson Foundation (MWF) to expand on its long-standing philanthropic work with organizations related to housing and improving quality of life. MWF’s mission is to support the creation of permanently affordable housing in Chicago’s north suburbs, specifically through the Community Land Trust (CLT) model – the success of which MWA co-founders Elissa Morgante and Fred Wilson have seen directly through their involvement with Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH), which develops and preserves affordable housing locally. For its initial fundraising appeal, MWF set the goal of helping CPAH purchase and renovate the first CLT home in Wilmette. That goal was reached over the summer, and MWF and CPAH celebrated last weekend with an open house at the home to thank supporters. Team TJ alerted local media to the milestone, resulting in coverage on the local Patch site. Check out the story here, and visit the MWF website to make a donation toward the next CLT home in Wilmette. Read more in today’s TJ TALK.
