As Tampa Bay Gets More Expensive, Micro Apartments With Robotic Furniture Are Coming

October 8, 2021

How do you sell Tampa-area renters on micro apartment living? First, you contact Taylor Johnson, which is exactly what client Wingspan Development Group did when it broke ground this fall on NICHE at North Hyde Park, a 251-unit luxury rental community near downtown Tampa and the University of Tampa. After learning of the community’s innovative design, we shared details with local, regional and national press, spotlighting how the building’s 83 micro units use Ori robotic furniture to maximize the square footage of each room. Ori – short for “origami” – gives residents the option to transform small living space at the touch of a button or a command to Siri. The result was a front-page story in the Tampa Bay Times, along with coverage on Fox 13 Tampa Bay and in the Business ObserverPatch Tampa and Florida Trend. Read the Tampa Bay Times article here.
