Student Housing A Solid Bet Post-Pandemic

August 18, 2021

Despite the disruptions to student life caused by the pandemic, demand for near-campus housing in U.S. college towns is soaring, creating an opportunity for savvy developers who can pinpoint high-growth areas with a dearth of modern student residences. When Mansion Global needed developer experts to discuss which markets were good bets for student housing investment, we knew Taylor Johnson client CRG could offer some high-level education. We connected the reporter with J.J. Smith, managing partner of CRG’s residential business, who outlined how student housing fits into CRG’s plan to invest $1 billion in residential developments over the next three years and identified what areas of the U.S. stand to see the most student housing investment. Read the Mansion Global article here, and also learn about a recently announced CRG student housing project in South Carolina in articles placed in Multi-Housing News and The Post & Courier, as well as CRG’s new development in Reno, Nevada, in the RenoGazette Journal and REBusinessOnline.

CRG recently broke ground on two new student housing developments – The Standard (pictured at left), a 678-bed, 17-story tower near the University of South Carolina, and The Academy at Reno, a 755-bed, 12-story tower near the University of Nevada, Reno.
